6 Springtime Cocktails
As the final snows of winter melt away, we can see Spring has sprung upon us! The Spring equinox will be on March 20th this year, and we think it’s time for a change of pace. So put down the hot chocolate and spiced lattes, it’s time for a Spring-inspired cocktail! Here are a few of our favorites, categorized by whatever mood you might be in.
Mix and Mingle
You could have one, two or twenty friends over; it doesn’t matter! These two cocktails are sure to get the party started!
This tangy concoction has skyrocketed in popularity over the past few years and has become instantly recognizable by its traditional serving vessel — a copper mug. Don’t fret, a copper mug isn’t needed to enjoy the flavors, but you will need:
- 1.5 oz of vodka of your choice (9 parts)
- 1/6 oz lime juice (1 part)
- 4 oz ginger beer (24 parts)
Combine ingredients over ice, stir, and enjoy!
Tipsy tip: Use fresh limes to make your lime juice and use the leftovers as a garnish.
Frozen Strawberry Margarita
This timeless classic gets a Springtime makeover with a fruity twist! There’s nothing quite like enjoying this sweet treat to bring you out of your wintertime hibernation. Here’s what you’ll need (serves 4):
- 2 cups of crushed ice
- ½ cup of strawberry puree
- 1 cup of tequila
- 2 limes juiced
- Splash of triple sec
- Splash simple syrup
Combine in a blender until you reach smooth perfection and enjoy!
Tipsy tip: Instead of the traditional salt rim, try a sugar rim instead.
If partying isn’t your thing, feel free to take it nice and slow with these relaxing (albeit powerful) libations.
This World War 1 era original will take you back to a time of glitz and glamour– the kind of whimsical aura springtime carries. To prepare this drink, you will need:

Add all but the champagne into a cocktail shaker and shake, shake, shake away! Pour mixture into a champagne flute and top with your favorite champagne.
This fresh take on the classic Tom Collins is sure to throw you into the springtime mood. Lemon, cucumber, and mint marry to provide the perfect flavor for this special cocktail. You will need:

Blooms and Booze
These two classics are great year round; we just love them so much we think they deserve a mention. Whether you’re with your friends or taking some time while Spring cleaning, feel free to indulge yourself with these ‘bevvies’.
Okay, so this may not be Spring per se, but look at that color! The origin of this drink is still up for debate but we can all agree whoever came up with the cocktail deserves a ‘cheers!’ This pink treat calls for:

- .5 oz lime juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake, shake, shake, and strain into a martini glass.
For all those out there that prefer their spring with a bit of bite, the Whiskey Sour is just what you need! This American Classic calls for:

- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz Gomme syrup
Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and mix well, may be served over rocks or straight up. Garnish with an orange slice and Maraschino cherry.
Tipsy Tip: If your health/diet allows, you can shake in a dash of egg white for a frothier texture!
