5 Tips To Help You Go Green
It usually takes a powerful influence or a life-changing event before someone decides to join the planet-friendly community. Both factors are perfectly fine because essentially, the end goal still remains. The beautiful thing about going green is you can start big or small. Regardless, your efforts are contributing toward a resourceful environment. Check out some of the ways you can go green to help your environment today.
Power down your electronics at night—The less energy you can use the better. Think of it this way, when you’re sleeping let your laptops, radio, and miscellaneous electronics ‘sleep’ too! You eliminate wasting energy and contribute toward a ‘greener’ environment. Turn off the electronics at night and you’re steadily on your way.
Who needs paper? –- I love this tip because it is SO easy. It basically involves one step. When selecting options for documents, mail, anything you can write on, opt for the paperless route. These days, bank statements can be emailed, message alerts can be texted, and reminders can be left on voicemails. Make the paperless tactic your best tactic.
Reusable water bottles should be your best friend—Try using a water bottle instead of getting bottled water. Check out Target, Walmart, or any other grocery store for excellent and affordable water bottles. You’re saving money and you’re being resourceful.
Turn the lights off if you can—It took me a while to get used to this step because I am so used to bright lighting, especially being in an office setting. Don’t make this difficult to stick to. When you get home, employ this tactic. If you can, turn off most of the lights in the house to conserve energy.
Grocery shop with reusable bags–I leave you with this final tip. It’s minor but very doable. Instead of grabbing the plastic bags for your groceries, exchange this for a reusable bag. The benefit is obvious—you can reuse this as many times as you see fit. You’re certainly shaping up to be eco-friendlier here. It’s a good look!
‘Going green’ is a small, yet powerful task. With a few changes, the right tools, and the right idea, you too can help make a difference. An eco-friendly environment helps each and every one of us in the long run.
